Air Ambulance Fund Raiser

FROME SELWOOD BOWLS CLUB TO BOWL FOR 24 HOURS IN MARATHON FUNDRAISER FOR AIR AMBULANCE

Frome Selwood Bowls Club is rolling up its sleeves — and rolling out its bowls — for an extraordinary 24-hour marathon in aid of the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.

On the weekend of 23rd–24th May, Ladies Captain Kathy Kingman and Club Secretary Mike Bishop will take on a grueling challenge: two back-to-back twelve-hour bowls sessions, running from 9 am to 9 pm on both Saturday and Sunday. That's 24 hours of competitive bowls across a single weekend — all to raise vital funds for the life-saving helicopter service.

Spectators and supporters are warmly invited to come along throughout the weekend. There'll be plenty of ways to get involved and contribute, with donation forms available on the day, a bumper raffle, and a "Guess How Many Bowls" competition — with all proceeds going directly to the Air Ambulance.

Fancy having a go yourself? Visitors are encouraged to try their hand at bowling on the club's spare rinks, with a suggested donation to the fundraising pot.

The clubhouse bar will be open for most of the day, alongside hot drinks and snacks from the kitchen, so there's every reason to make a day of it.

Kathy Kingman, Ladies Captain, said: "We're thrilled to be taking on this challenge for such an important local charity. We'd love to see the community come out and support us — whether that's cheering us on, buying a raffle ticket, or picking up a bowl and giving it a try."

Frome Selwood Bowls Club is located adjacent to the Mary Baily Playing Field, Frome. For more information, contact club secretary Mike Bishop on [email protected] or 07970 000773, or Kathy Kingman on 01373 463085.
